After several successful runs across the United States, Here You Come Again, has now been adapted for the UK. We are finishing the run in Leeds, England on June 11th and then head out on an extensive UK tour, playing one week stops in 24 different cities. This is all in anticipation of a theater in the West End in London, which we hope to lock up soon. And then on to Australia and possibly New Zealand in 2025!

A rollicking and touching new musical about a has-been-who-never-was comedian and his unusual relationship with his longtime idol, Dolly Parton. The show is a celebration of Dolly’s music and of the profound and funny things she has to say to us all about life, love and how to pull yourself up by your bootstraps during the toughest of times—even if your bootstraps don’t have rhinestones!

A revival of this well-known Stephen Schwartz musical from 1968 as recently revived by Pittsburgh CLO and conceived by Gabriel Barre and Choreographer Jon Rua for a dancing cast of actor musicians!

Gabe is thrilled to announce the release of A Real & Practical Approach to Directing Musical Theater in collaboration with Forward Motion.

Gabe recently completed a 5 week workshop in Beijing, China, for a new Broadway scale musical called Sound of the Silk Road. This World Premiere will be opening next summer (2021) in Xi’an, China. The following summer (2022) the show will be installed in a brand new theme park in Xi’an about the Silk Road.

Winners have been announced for the 2019 BroadwayWorld Connecticut Awards. Goodspeed Opera House’s production of Billy Elliot won 9 awards, including Best Musical, Best Direction, Best Choreography, Best Set, Costume, Lighting and Sound Design, Best Actor and Best Ensemble.

Billy Elliot, directed by Gabriel Barre, recently completed it’s three month run at Goodspeed Opera House.

Gabe had a wonderful time sitting down with Patrick Flynn of “The Original Cast” to discuss opening in Boston without a director, learning on the job, John & Jen, and Starmites.

Amas Musical Theatre will present Duet For Three, a new musical directed by Gabriel Barre, for three performances only: Thursday, November 21 at 3pm & 7pm and Friday, November 22.

Gabe was thrilled to direct a revival benefit concert for the Red Bull Theatre Company of Return to the Forbidden Planet. Gabe was an original US cast member off broadway in 1991.

North Shore Music Theatre’s production of Freaky Friday, directed by Gabriel Barre, is now open.

Gabe’s production of Jesus Christ Superstar with Karlín Musical Theatre in Prague just celebrated it’s 8th year anniversary.

Gabe is honored to direct what was his first Broadway show as an actor: Rags.

The world premiere of the new Czech musical, Holmes the Legend opened tonight at the Karlin Theatre in Prague. Written by Ondřej Brzobohatý and starring Vojtěch Dyk.

Gabe recently began work with composer/writer Rupert Holmes to create a new musical based on the novel, Flowers of War, set in Nanjing, China in 1937.

1. The Mexican premiere of Billy Elliot that Gabe directed has just been nominated for 10 Metro Awards, including Best Director .

John Cariani’s play, Almost, Maine was just awarded the most produced play in the United States for the third year.

Frank WIldhorn’s Carmen celebrated it’s 10 year anniversary at Karlin Theatre in Prague.

Gabe was recently in Inner Mongolia, doing research for a new show about the revered 60 year old dance troupe called Wulanmuqi.
